Taking Steps...

Hello Everyone-

I hope everyone is well.  I am still looking for a Nursing position. On my downtime,  I am writing and recording more songs.  I am preparing to take the next step which is to enter songwriting contests in the hopes of getting some feedback! I hope that everyone is enjoying the new music on the myspace page! Since I think that this will be the last posting before the new year, I would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays!!

Stuck in the Process

Hello Everyone-

I have written and recorded three new songs.  I am debating when to put them up on the myspace page because I see that the songs that I have put up have not been played yet.... I am happy that people are interested in my music... thank you for that... I just wish that I knew if I am good at this.... I need some feedback- whether it is positive or negative in order for me to develop and grow.... I am after all taking a chance on a dream... I need something to keep my hopes up.... I hope everyone is well!!!

A Season Of Changes

A Time to Reflect and Give Thanks

Hello Everyone! Over the past couple of weeks, a lot has happened.... I went to see the movie " The Blind Side"- it left me thinking about how we only have one life and that we need to make sure that we make the best of it.  It was an incredibly uplifting and touching story that reminds me of the true meaning of the holidays!! I am grateful for the wonderful family and friends that are in my life!! I have been writing songs and hope to get them online soon!! The job hunt is still going- hoping for good news soon!! Ultimately, I am still trying to progress through all of the challenges but I am staying optimistic about it!!!

Being Persistent In the Process

Hey Everyone-

Forward Progress

I updated the myspace page last night- uploading photos and a new background. I am hoping to add new songs at the end of the week... I wrote about twenty songs over the last two weeks. It is nice to take emotions and shape them into a song. I also like that you can take things that happen in everyday life and incorporate them into lyrics. Some of the best songs that exist leave a level of mystery to them. Hope everyone is well!!

Regaining what I lost

Yesterday was a great day for me. I had my ten year high school reunion and I will admit I was nervous. Life works in funny ways and it seemed like it was 1997 to me all over again. Great times with great people and it was exactly like how I remembered it. I never thought I had a profound impact on people until last night. In the two short years that I went to school with my classmates, they not only remembered me but made me feel like I belonged. That in itself is a gift. Our family has moved a lot but this was the first time that I felt like people accepted me for how I was. It was a wonderful night and I hope to catch up with all of you soon!!

A Work In Progress

Hey Everyone-

I am writing to keep everyone updated about my progress. I have recorded 4 new songs and they are on tape. I am hoping to get them uploaded as soon as possible. I am beginning to believe that my songwriting is developing and improving. I feel like this is a step in the right direction. As for a certain type of style to classify the music by, I would have to say that it is a mixture of influences. My hope is that when you hear the songs you will like them and enjoy them. Hope all is well.

Over 200 Plays!!

I am very happy to say that my myspace page has recorded over 200 plays of my songs!! I plan on uploading more songs in the near future. I am currently trying to find a job and have a lot of songs on tape and on paper. Hope all is well with everyone- please feel free to write a comment.

A Good Place

Today is my birthday!! I have to say that I am at a good place in my life at the moment. This past weekend was the first weekend that I did not have to open a book and study. I also love it when plans come up spontaneously- it was great to have fun and forget about the stress for a little bit. Hoping to get some new music up soon!! Take care!!

A Great Month!!!

A Fantastic Day!!

Yesterday brought me some fantastic news- I passed my nursing boards and am now an RN!!! I was really relieved because I can now plan for a break and enjoy my time. I no longer have to do 300 questions a day to prepare. I can use my time to do things that I enjoy- I will be looking for a job but I will also be looking forward to writing and recording more songs!! I hope that everyone is well!! Take care!!

Striving for my dream

I have not had the chance to record new music but I have a couple of songs in progress. A lot has happened in the last few days. First, I am a fan of all types of music but I do have my favorite artists who I can rely on when I need to hear something that captures my emotions. There are a couple of artists who at the current moment inspire me to keep striving for my dream- Taylor Swift and Susan Boyle. Taylor is so young, yet has a grace and maturity beyond her years and she is very talented. The fact that she is a successful songwriter inspires me to keep going. Susan Boyle has an amazing voice and for someone who came from where she did and overcome adversity- she is an inspiration to me!!

It will be a very busy week for me- I hope all goes well!! I feel inspired. Hope everyone is well- and if anyone is viewing this please let me know by leaving a comment, it would be great to know that I am not talking to myself.

Inspiration

Yesterday was like a dream to me. September 9, 2009 was the day " The Beatles: Rockband" and the digitally remastered albums came out. I worked and it was fantastic to hear all the great music on the radio. It helped me get through the work day. When I am feeling bad or sad, music always seems to relax me and seems to reassure me even at my lowest points. I wrote two more songs yesterday and I have to record them. I hope to have the new songs up soon- it may be a little while- hopefully by next month.

I hope everyone is well. I don't want to say it but Summer is clearly over. School is back in session and the leaves are changing color. Wishing everyone the best.

A Big Decision

Hello Everyone. I am currently deciding whether or not I will apply to send my songs into music labels. I have to finish up some songs and have enough to at least complete a decent album. I would then need to apply for a copyright for my songs and then send them out hoping to hear good news. I hope everyone is enjoying what is posted on myspace. A Sign of The Times

Hello everyone! I hope all is well!! Since my last posting, I have been working hard at trying to write one song, but I can't find the right words to it. I am trying to be patient. The music industry today is soo hard to break into. Unless you know someone in the industry, you may never get a chance to try to make your dream come true. I will be trying over the next several months to complete an album. What is currently up on the myspace page are demos of songs I have been working on. I have no idea if they are any good but I prefer to work on it and hope that someone sees some sort of potential in my voice and songwriting.
The year seems to be flying by and I hope that it provides me with more inspiration!! It will be different for me because I will no longer be returning to school. I have a lot to look forward too and I hope for the rest of the year to be fantastic. I hope that all of you are well and that you are enjoying the last days of summer!!

Progression is Key

Since my first post, I have recorded two more songs. I have also been trying to learn to play the guitar. That is a work in progress. It is actually great to have some sort of release- some people like to keep a journal, for me it is writing poems that I try to translate into songs.

I actually went swimming last night for the first time this summer. I have just been so busy with everything and Summer seems to go by so quickly. I will say that there is no shortage of things to write about. Plus I will have some extra time now that I do not have to go back to school. Will keep you updated on my progress!
